Automotive Sector
Metallised plastics offer many different benefits: low weight, resistance to corrosion, production of blanks through injection moulding and the substantial elimination of mechanical surface treatments. Today, the chrome plating of plastic parts in electroplating facilities is an indispensable manufacturing process.
The areas of application for chrome-plated plastics are many and varied: buttons, control units, decorative trims, switches etc. However, the sanitary sector also uses them for mixer taps, shower heads and tap handles.
The automotive sector, however, is where most applications for partial chrome plating can be found where they are used to provide a decorative finish.
