The highest priority at KBT is a consistent focus on client satisfaction, all the way through from product planning to serial production and delivery. Our quality planning and assurance is done in accordance with customer-specific requirements such as VDA, QS 9000 etc.
Both the manufacturing inspections and other tests within the sampling process are carried out using state-of-the-art testing methods and are monitored and evaluated with the support of CAQ software. Our technical equipment includes 3-D measuring machines, corrosion testing sets, layer thickness measurement devices and microscopes. In our in-house laboratory we run a multitude of various stress tests as well as carrying out bath analyses.

Quality Planning

The quality of our products comes from an intensive collaboration process between the customer, the project team and the manufacturing team. Our quality planning team works with the parties involved to devise all quality-related features of our products. These are then documented and strategies developed for monitoring them in series production. Risks are analysed using PFMEA and the processes are then designed to minimise these risks. A control plan records these activites in an EMPB (VDA) or PPAP (Level 3). Only once sampling has been completed are our products ready for series production.

Series Production Processes

Our top priority is providing our customers with parts that meet the quality standards specified. All our processes are therefore monitored throughout series production. Alongside the standard KTB tests, additional tests can be defined as part of the project brief to comply with the special requirements of individual items. An item-specific set of work and test instructions is created for each item to describe how the tests should be carried out. The results of the series production tests are documented in the CAQ system or in special databases. Typical series production tests include:
In injection moulding: visual sample inspection and SPC measurement
In electroplating: 100% inspection of the surface, shock test, heat storage, layer thickness measurement, temperature and climatic change test, Cass test (corrosion), layer adhesion (e.g. cross-cut test)
